King of Limbskit

I've been listening to the new Radiohead since it came out a couple weeks ago. It wouldn't be fair for me to judge it at first listen because well, it's Radiohead. Like every other one of their albums, this one grew on me. This happens with tons of bands but there's something about their shit. It's frustrating because when I spin the CD for the first time, I can't stand it. It is depressing shit. Especially King of Limbs. I can't understand anything he says and the timing is a mess. But for some reason, 2 weeks later I can't stop listening. So much so that if I'm driving in the early morning or late at night I need it.

To me, every band's dream is to play whatever they want and have millions of people listen. This is an easy thing to say but it is the hardest thing to do as a famous band. Radiohead is living that dream. King Of Limbs is so fucking obscure and phenomenal. Fuck.

  2. thanks for the comment Shaun...

this is my order as far as Radiohead albums go...

    1. In Rainbows (pretty much flawless in every way)

    2. OK Computer (besides being groundbreaking at the time, it is actually an amazing groundbreaking album. Some groundbreakers try too hard to be groundbreaking. This is started the rise of electronic music and it was a natural and perfectly executed groundbreak)

    3. The Bends (most underrated in my opinion. not a skippable track)

    4. Kid A (because of Idioteque)

    5. Amnesiac

    6. King of Limbs

    7. Hail to the Thief (ehh)

    7. Pablo Honey (duh)

this is my order from personal favorite to least favorite. it's very difficult to compare their albums just because they are so different and each excellent in their own ways...King of Limbs is awesome but it's just hard to beat the others.

  3. When is Radiohead going to release an album of just "Creep" remixes? Thats the only song anyone knows anyway. Maybe I just have trouble getting into a "rock" band whose majority of songs sound like moaning over ambient noise. But maybe my ears are not musically enlightened enough to appreciate those sweet tones. Probably that.
